Synopsis
The last day of Carnival—Ash Wednesday. February 1976. Saint-Esprit, Martinique. After living in mainland France for several years under the BUMIDOM program, Liéna returns to her family, sitting numb with grief in the back of the hearse bringing home the body of her younger sister, who had died in the mainland. Arriving at the family home makes the reunion painful. The period of mourning will bring a sorrowful realization...
